Beautiful B & B and amazing staff!”
Reviewed July 7, 2011 Our family stayed for two nights, to celebrate our daughter's 8th birthday. The inn is beautifully decorated, quiet and has incredible service. Every staff member is accommodating, friendly, personable, helpful and kind. They had secretly purchased birthday balloons for our daughter and had them waiting in the room to surprise her, which made her feel so special! Carol went out of her way to get our room ready early, as we had arrived before check-in. Cathy let us switch rooms (to The King) without hesitation when we needed a larger bed. It was spacious (accommodated the three of us comfortably), beautifully decorated, and nice and cool. The continental breakfast was above average, as it included fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade baked goods (delicous) and the food was plentiful. When we asked about checkout time on the last day, Celeste and staff not only let us leave our luggage in the room when we went rafting (since the room was not booked that night), but they encouraged us to shower before getting in the car for the journey home (3pm)! We felt that this generous and gracious gesture went above and beyond! The inn is centrally located and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The staff made great recommendations for food and activities. We will definitely go back, as it was a terrific experience.
The best that New Hope has to offer--a true gem!”
Reviewed June 8, 2011 We just spent a week at Stephan House for my son's wedding weekend, enoying the inn's many outstanding amenities and ideal location. It is a rare find in New Hope for its top quality rooms (each beautifully appointed with its own modern bathroom), set in a true local 19th century gem of a building. The reception/gathering room is open, sunny and perfect for family and friends to enjoy. One of its best features is the rooftop deck for watching the town's activities, the evening stars or New Hope's famed Friday night fireworks over the Delaware River. Parking is convenient to the inn for easy access, but once there, you can walk to all the stores and restaurants in town. A short walk across the Delaware River bridge takes you to even more choices in Lambertville. Our stay couldn't have been better. Glen, Celeste and Carol coordinated the details of our wedding weekend events (a wine and dessert Friday night reception and Sunday brunch in the courtyard), making sure we were worry-free hosts. Stephan House truly is New Hope's best place for gathering, celebrating, relaxing or exploring this beautiful area!
We're back home in Queens. We wanted t0 thank you for your hospitality and generosity. We had a great time. The inn is beautiful. You're a talented guy! We loved our room - loved the fireplace - so cozy! We hope to stay there again one of these days and, hopefully, it won't take so long before we get back to New Hope this time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and in Lambertville. Both are such pretty towns with lots of charm.
Love all the walking, and walking over the bridge is great. We were out early this morning. I'm an early bird. LOVE the morning. I dragged Eric out of bed. He's a good sport.
Thanks again for everything. We hope to see you again very soon.
Take good care and enjoy the spring when it gets here.
